The following letter was hand-delivered to Rev. Nakamoto on May 17th after DN did not acknowledge or respond to an express mailed letter sent the prior week.

We are extremely disturbed by the various false and completely erroneous statements you made about the SGI and SGI President Daisaku Ikeda in the January 2008 issue of your publication Nichiren Shoshu Monthly. For example the following quote, “I have doubts about Daisaku Ikeda’s daily behavior and his speech.,” has absolutely no reference attached to it. In addition, your alleged quote from President Ikeda which states, “Either we win or lose…If you are attacked, fight back. Don’t pay any mind to what the public says. I have absolutely no fears. I am the bravest of men…Tell the rebels ‘Mother ___r!’ ‘Bast__d!’,” again has no citation of when or where such a statement was made.
Since we, the youth of SGI in New York, believe these comments were completely fabricated, we request that you provide us with the sources of all of these statements.
Furthermore, we request that you engage us in dialogue to further discuss these false accusations. How could it be acceptable to print any statements without listing their sources? To do so alone is proof of your misleading intent.
We must point out, however, that Nichiren himself was a master of debate as were his successors, Nikko Shonin and Nichimoku Shonin. Over and over again, even with people they regarded as highly deluded, they engaged in debate. If you claim to be Nichiren’s disciple, we would assume that you would now eagerly accept our invitation.
We, the youth of SGI in New York, request an official apology published in your publication immediately. Your response is requested no later than May 25th, 2008. Your lack of response will prove the baseless of your accusation against SGI and SGI President Daisaku Ikeda.
